The New Trend: Summer Slides

June 4, 2018
Summer Slides

Ever since I bought a pair of summer slides at the beginning of the year, I’ve been wearing them on repeat. They are really comfortable, kind of like a regular sandal but you just slide them on your feet, and you are out the door. No need to tie them up, or zip them up. Super quick and easy to put on. Quite comfortable too.

The first pair I got are these white slip ons, they also come in black, rose gold, and silver. I decided to get them in white because I think they look so chic. And they are ideal for those days when I didn’t manage to do my pedicure, and I don’t need everyone to know that. Ha!

A couple of weeks ago, I got a pair of black slip ons, when I realized that I didn’t have any black shoes. With summer coming up, I didn’t think I will be wearing them a lot. I do love black, but it’s not a very summery color. However, I was utterly wrong. Because now I wear my black slides more than my white ones. I guess it really depends on the outfit, right? What I love most about the black summer slides is the pointy toe. I’ve always been a huge fan of pointy toe shoes. They elevate any look, even a plain tee and a pair of jeans look so put together with a pointy toe shoe. Don’t you think?

The Trend: Summer Slides

Okay, so I liked these black summer slides so much, that I ended up ordering a pink pair too. Exactly the same as the black ones, but in a light pink shade. I was actually very excited to get them because I’ve never had a pair of pink shoes. Having quite a neutral color palette clothes, I imagined that I’d be able to adapt them to most of my outfits quickly. However, I don’t find them that versatile. I realize that I reach for my other summer slides more than the pink ones. Nevertheless, I’m determined to keep them and find ways to incorporate them into my outfits more.

Although I prefer the closed toe versions a bit more because they can easily be worn during spring, summer, and fall, there are a few open toe summer slides, which I absolutely love and I’ve already added to my wishlist.

What do you prefer when it comes to sandals? Open toe or closed toe?
