How To Keep Your White Clothes White Naturally

Am I the only one that finds white to be such a high maintenance color? I love wearing white clothes, but I loathe when they lose their brightness and turn yellowish. So I made it my mission to find a different solution on how to keep your white clothes white naturally.

While bleach may be the first thing that comes to mind, when you think of whiter clothes, it can be a bit harsh solution. There are so many other alternatives out there that will give you the same if not better results that will not harm your clothes and in some cases even leave weird white spots on them. Don’t you just hate when this happens?

Okay so let’s jump into it, how to keep your white clothes white naturally.

HOW TO KEEP YOUR WHITE CLOTHES WHITE NATURALLY:

• Vinegar
• Borax
• Lemon or lemon juice
• Hydrogen Peroxide
• Baking soda

Add 1/2 cup of any of those ingredients above to the next wash cycle and wash as usual with hot water.

How to brighten whites:

1. Fill a pot with water + 1 cup of vinegar.
2. Add your clothes to the pot.
3. Bring the water to a boil.
4. Remove the pot, once it’s boiling.
5. Keep clothes in the vinegar water until the next day.
6. Wash them in a separate load as you would normally.

I’ve heard that it’s a good idea to dry them in bright sunlight to make them even brighter. I haven’t tried that one, so if any of you have let me know if it worked for you.
