Happy Friday everyone! Do you have any plans for the weekend? The weather has been extremely hot here in Riverside. So hot that I avoid going out during the day unless I have to. While the kids don’t mind the heat, I can’t spend more than 10 minutes outdoor when it’s over 100 degrees. So I’m trying to come up with fun activities for us to do at home until we can go outside, which is usually around 5-6 pm.
In the meantime, let’s talk about yellow dresses. I feel this year it’s all about shades of yellow. Especially bright yellow. It’s everywhere, and I like it. When I think of adding a pop of color in the summer, this is the color that sticks out the most. And for some reason, yellow dresses are the easiest way to add some brightness to your summer closer.
If you have a lighter skin tone, you can choose a bit reddish shade of yellow, like mustard. Darker skin tones would look great in a bright yellow shade. It will really pop.
I got this scalloped hem dress in a large size even though I always wear a medium. When I was looking at the pictures of the model on the website, the dress seemed a bit short, so I sized up. I’m glad I did. It does fit a bit loose overall, but I’m pleased with the length. There is nothing more annoying than ordering a dress online that ends up being way too short when you try it on. The material of the dress is not stretchy, and it’s very lightweight. A fun piece for summer.
Below you’ll find some of my favorite yellow dresses for this season. I tried to pick a variety of styles, all of them are under $100.
