Trip to Naples, Italy

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before but I love traveling. I take any opportunity I get to travel and see places I’ve never been to before. It’s actually like a rule me and my husband have, we will only go places we’ve never visited before. Last month, we took a trip to Naples and Capri in Italy. I don’t know why it took me so long to share these pictures on the blog, but as we all know life happens. I will split this post in two parts, one with pictures from Naples and the second one will be with pictures from Capri. I don’t want to bore you with too many pictures in one post.

We left on an early Friday morning and jumped on a plane to Naples. It was actually a last-minute decision because it had the warmest weather for that weekend. We stayed in a small hotel in the city, that was close to pretty much everything. The first day was spent walking around and visiting museums like the National Archaeological Museum which is large and full of pictures and sculptures, some of which were older than 2000 years. It took us about two hours to see everything there.

Interesting fact: My favorite pizza the Margherita was invented in Naples in 1889 to honor Italy’s Queen Margherita of Savoy that was visiting the city. (source)

I don’t know if some of you know this but in Italy, it is actually offensive to ask for ketchup, mayo, or any other condiment sauce on top of your pizza. I’m a big pizza sauce person, so this made a big impression on me. We were sitting in a restaurant when someone seated at another table next to us ordered pizza and grabbed the ketchup, right before he was about to put it on his pizza, the waiter came and grabbed the ketchup from his hands and shouted something in Italian. I didn’t reach for the ketchup after that lol. That’s just a funny story I wanted to share with you all.

Hope you enjoy the pictures from our trip to Naples in Italy.

Haha I grew up spending all my summers in Italy so I’d say I kinda live their culture and hearing about people wanting to put ketchup on their pizza makes me cringe. Why would you do that to a perfect dish??????

Yes, one thing I realize everywhere I visit is that people eat pizza different ways. Personally I like ketchup with everything :)
