Trip to Capri, Italy

This is the second post from our trip to Italy, if you haven’t seen the first one, you can read about our trip to Naples, here. This second part is about our trip to Capri, one of the most beautiful little islands.

We took a ferry from Naples to the Island of Capri, it’s a gorgeous little island about 40 min away from Naples that I highly recommend to everyone. We boarded a bus that took us to the Blue Grotto, a beautiful underwater sea cave where only accessible via the tiniest of boats. It is one of the most magnificent things you’ll ever see. The Blue Grotto is a sea cave on the coast of the island of Capri, where the sunlight shines through the seawater and creates the most beautiful blue reflection inside of the pitch-black cavern. Capri is very busy especially in the summer if you plan to visit make sure you plan ahead of time because the tickets for the ferry sell out pretty fast. There were limoncello stands on the streets pretty much everywhere. Limoncello is a liquor made of lemons, and Capri is famous for producing big lemons year-round.

Interesting fact: The famous Caprese salad, which is made of fresh tomato, mozzarella cheese and basil get its name from Capri or as people in Capri call it “The Salad of Capri”. (source)

On the last day of our trip we also did some shopping for souvenirs to take to family and friends. Lots of walking, drinking espressos, eating delicious pizza, and gelato. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to see where we’ll go next. Have you been to Capri? How was your experience?
