I refuse to go outside without wearing sunscreen. In all honesty, mineral sunscreen is part of my morning skincare routine, so I wear it even if I’m not leaving the house. I have one on my counter with all of my beauty products. Then I have one downstairs and another one in my purse. This way I have no excuse to not wear one and reapply it throughout the day.
One thing that I’ve always disliked about sunscreens is the white cast they leave on the skin. I’m already fair-skinned, so after sunscreen, you can easily mistake me for a ghost. Okay, jokes aside, but you know what I mean.
The good thing is that nowadays, there are so many great mineral sunscreens that won’t leave a white cast and I wanted to share them with you.
MINERAL SUNSCREEN
EltaMD Skincare UV Clear Broad-Spectrum
EltaMD sunscreen has a creamy and lightweight consistency. It feels like you’re wearing nothing on the skin. It’s also very easy to apply and quickly absorbs into the skin. EltaMD has a tinted version of this sunscreen, which I personally like just as much. The tint is very light and barely noticeable, which makes it a great option to wear during the day.
First Aid Beauty Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen
The consistency of this sunscreen is a bit runny which may be the reason why it’s so easy to spread out. It’s lightweight and it lays nicely on the skin. It has a slight sunscreen scent (if you know what I mean) but it is so light that you barely notice it. What I really like is the tint, which blends seamlessly into my skin and looks great with makeup on top.
Versed Guards Up Daily Mineral Sunscreen
This product has convinced me to try other Versed products. The texture of the sunscreen is not just lightweight but so moisturizing, which feels amazing on the skin. It also gives you three-way protection from environmental pollution, electronic pollution (from screen time), and the sun. It’s free of parabens, sulfates, silicones and it’s not animal tested.
Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen
Perfect to use as a primer. The invisible, oil-free formula is lightweight and works for any skin shade. It’s not greasy and it doesn’t leave any white cast. On top of that, it contains red algae, which increases the skin’s moisture-retention capabilities. It also has meadowfoam seed oil, which is very hydrating. This sunscreen protects you from both infrared and blue light.
Australian Gold Botanical Tinted Face Sunscreen
This non-chemical sunscreen has a tint and you can choose from three different shades – fair to light, medium to tan, and rich to deep. The formula has a matte finish, it doesn’t feel greasy and it doesn’t clog your pores. It also protects from both UVA and UVB rays. Since the SPF 50 is pretty high, I think it’s great for outdoors, but I’d probably go with sunscreen with smaller SPF if I’m going to stay at home for the day.
Neutrogena Hydroboost Non-Greasy Sunscreen Lotion
Speaking of mineral sunscreens, I have to mention Neutrogena’s Hydroboost Sunscreen because it’s such an affordable option and you can pick it up anywhere. Overall I really like the Hydroboost collection by Neutrogena because it’s very hydrating and this sunscreen doesn’t disappoint. The texture of the lotion is water-light, non-greasy, and it’s great to wear under makeup. It goes on so smooth, and it has a very pleasant scent to it.
Murad City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum
Last, but not least, the Murad City Skin Age Defense sunscreen has a light peachy tint. Rubs in well and it’s creamy but lightweight. This product is a bit on the pricier side, compared to the rest of the products on this list, but the formula is wonderful. I personally found it a bit greasier, which worked well for my dry skin, but if your skin is on the oilier side, you might not like the texture.
