Blue Cotton Shirt

When it comes to formal shirts the first color I think of is blue. While navy is a neutral color and it is an excellent alternative to black, other shades of blue can feel a little more casual. This light blue cotton shirt is precisely that. It has this laid-back look and feels to it.

A lighter shade of blue looks a lot less formal than a darker one.

I tend to always buy one shirt for fall, and I try to choose a piece that is easy to wear multiple ways. I feel like this blue cotton shirt is perfect and not just for fall. The material is very light so that it can be worn during the warmer months, like a jacket, on top of your white tee. While in the fall, I can wear it half tucked in and with a leather jacket, white sneakers or some chunky boots (still looking for a cute pair of those). Then in the winter, I can layer it under a big white sweater with some of the shirt showing underneath.

casual outfit in black, white and blueThere are countless options to wear a blue cotton shirt. The stripes are fun, and overall this shirt has such a classic look. Then let’s talk about the fit. It is a bit masculine because the shape is mainly straight up and down. However, if you’d like to wear it in a more feminine way you can add a little knot on the front. I find that tying a knot to any shirt or tee adds a fun girly touch to it.

One of the main reasons, I love wearing shirts so much because of their versatility. They are easy to style and make you look put together without a lot of effort. And that is what I’m going for most of the time.
