Blonde hair takes a bit more work, but it happens to be my choice of hair color. Here are my top hair products for blondes that I’ve been using, which help keep my blonde hair healthy and strong.
Throughout my life, I have experimented with several different hair colors. I tried various shades of brown, black, and red. After each color change, I tend to go back to blonde. It’s the color I’ve had the longest on my h, and I like the most.
However, blonde hair is such a high-maintenance color. You need a purple shampoo to prevent brassy, orange tones. You can’t skip the conditioner because your hair will feel dry and brittle. Make sure to go back to your hairstylist every few months so he/she can tone your hair. There are so many things you have to do to maintain the color.
When the toner wears off the blonde color turns brassy and yellow-ish.
I won’t tell you about my late high school and early college days when I used to walk around with brassy blonde hair all the time. I have no idea what I was thinking. Nowadays, I prefer to keep my hair feeling and looking healthy.
Don’t you just love how your hair feels when you leave the salon? It’s shiny, it’s soft, and it smells fantastic.
Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite hair products that have been helping keep that beautiful fresh from the salon feeling a lot longer.
BEST HAIR PRODUCTS FOR BLONDES
Purple shampoo
A good purple shampoo will keep your blonde color cool and toned between treatments. I use this one, and it’s absolutely the best purple shampoo out there. It’s powerful, so if I keep it on for longer than 5-10 minutes, it acts as a toner.
Deep Conditioning Mask
I quickly realized that using only a conditioner is not enough when it comes to keep my hair healthy and soft . So twice a month I use a deep conditioning mask, which gives me an extra boost of hydration and helps to repair my hair.
Leave-In Treatment
Okay, I looked for leave-in hair treatment for a while until I found this one. It’s not specifically made for blondes but I haven’t noticed any weird color changes from using it. It’s very affordable, and it does a great job at keeping my hair soft and easy to brush.
After a shower, I will put my hair in a microfiber towel for about 15-20 minutes. Once it’s not dripping wet, I apply the leave-in treatment and brush my hair. Then I’ll wrap it back in my microfiber towel for a bit longer. If I have time I will air dry my hair, if not I will blow dry.
Hair Oil
One of my favorite hair oils is argan oil. It works really well on my dry hair and helps tame the frizz. I apply a bit on my ends and a little more on the rest of my hair just to help with the frizz and add some shine.
Another excellent choice for dry hair is macadamia and coconut oil.
Dry Shampoo
I think that dry shampoo is one of the best hair products for blondes out there. The thing is the less you wash your hair the easier it is to preserve your dye job.
DRY SHAMPOO TIP: After you spray it in your hair, let it sit for a couple of minutes to allow it to absorb all the excess oil. Then massage it in.
Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse
An apple cider vinegar hair rinse can help remove build up on your scalp, reduce color fading, and leave you with smooth and shiny hair. Some hair experts believe that it can even extend the life of hair color.
