Why Is Everyone Drinking Celery Juice + Benefits?

January 21, 2019
Everyone is drinking celery juice. What are the benefits?

Celery juice is the latest trend that has taken over the Internet. Everyone is drinking it – models, bloggers, celebrities. It looks like people are utterly obsessed with it.

So of course, I had to try it out for myself and see if celery juice can live up to the hype.

WHO STARTED THE CELERY JUICE TREND?

This wellness trend started by Anthony William aka the Medical Medium. He is an author that works with many celebrities such as Jenna Dewan, Naomi Campbell, Gwyneth Paltrow, etc.

So Anthony William pretty much swears by the benefits of drinking celery juice first thing in the morning. He describes it as a miracle juice that is also completely safe for pregnant moms, breastfeeding moms, and kids.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF DRINKING CELERY JUICE?

+ Improves gut health.
+ Clears the skin.
+ Flushes toxins out of the body.
+ Relieves inflammation.
+ Reduces high-cholesterol.
+ Cleanses the liver.
+ Helps with bloating.
+ Improves digestion.
+ Increase energy in the morning.

Other than that, celery is an excellent source of vitamin K, C, and fiber, which explains some of the benefits people are noticing.

According to Anthony William, drinking it daily will remove the unproductive bacteria in your gut and detox the liver from any toxins.

TIPS FOR CONSUMING CELERY JUICE:

Celery, in general, is very beneficial. However, to get the most of it, you need to follow these tips.

+ Celery juice should be consumed on its own! Leave out the lemon, cucumber, apple, and even ice for later in the day.
+ You can pre-chop your celery the night before and juice it in the morning. It will save you some time. However, it is not recommended to make the juice and let it sit in the fridge. You get the most benefits if you drink it right after you make it.
+ Drinking celery juice in the morning should not replace your breakfast. Wait for 15 to 20 minutes after you had your juice and before eating breakfast.
+ Use organic celery when possible! If you can’t buy organic, wash the celery stalks real good before juicing.
+ Drink at least 16 oz of fresh celery juice every morning on an empty stomach.

WHEN WILL I NOTICE ANY RESULTS?

Results will vary. Most people say they notice results in just 7 days. Others felt a difference after 2 months.

WHY JUICE IT? CAN’T I EAT IT INSTEAD?

Why is everyone juicing the celery? Can’t you just eat it and get the same benefits? Apparently not. When you juice the celery, the pulp (fiber) is removed and you end up consuming more celery that you would if you ate it. Removing the fiber also helps lower the cholesterol in your body and improve your digestion.

HOW TO MAKE CELERY JUICE:

There are two ways to make it. You can make it with a juicer or with a blender. It’s a lot easier with a juice, however, I don’t own one so I make mine in a blender. It just requires one extra step.

USING A JUICER: Wash 1 bunch of celery stalks well and juice them. You can juice with the leaves or without them. It’s up to you.
IN A BLENDER: Wash 1 bunch of celery stalks, chop them, put them in a blender, add a splash of water. Blend until smooth. Strain well using a nut milk bag and drink immediately.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I started drinking celery juice 2 weeks ago. I wanted to give it some time and see how it will make me feel before I share my thoughts on here. While many people claim that they feel a difference after their first juice, it wasn’t like that for me. It took a bit longer.

My biggest concern was the taste. I like celery in a green juice, soups, but I was never a big fan of celery on its own. Quite frankly, I didn’t think I will like it and stick with it – because of the TASTE. Surprisingly, the taste doesn’t bother me at all. I even like it.

Did I notice any difference after drinking it for 2 weeks? I do notice that my skin is clearer and my digestion system works really well. Since I haven’t made any other changes to my diet, I blame it on the celery juice. I also feel a bit more energetic in the morning and I haven’t been drinking that much coffee. Which is surprising because coffee is usually the first thing I reach for when I wake up.
