Bedtime Stories For Toddlers

Bedtime Stories For Toddlers

Reading bedtime stories is one of the things we do every single day. It’s something that’s part of our sleep routine.

As I’ve mentioned before, I started Liam on a sleep schedule quite early, perhaps a week after he was born. While it wasn’t easy it definitely wasn’t as hard as most people think. Let me clarify that crying it out wasn’t a part of our sleep training. A sleep schedule is just making everything easy for your baby to adjust to the new environment and for the parent to easily read their baby’s cues.

So here’s how it goes: After we have dinner, it’s playtime, then we go upstairs, take a bath, get dressed in PJs. Next, we pick a book, lay on the bed, and cuddle while reading. Liam would be drinking his bottle of milk, and I would be reading him a story. Maybe even two. It’s the best part of the day!

I go to the library once every two weeks and I get one book for me and a stack of books for Liam. I quickly notice which ones he likes and which ones he doesn’t. And there are some bedtime stories he absolutely loves to listen to again and again. So I will often keep certain books a bit longer, then return them and borrow them again in a few weeks. Just so I can keep things interesting for him.

Below I’m sharing some of Liam’s favorite bedtime stories right now.
