An Honest Review of the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer Brush

Revlon One Step Hair Dryer Brush Review

The Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer Brush is the cult product of the year. Everyone on the Internet is raving about it, so I decided to purchase it and try it out. Here is my honest opinion on the popular hot airbrush.

On most days, I either straighten my hair or style it in a low bun. I don’t get very fancy with my hairstyles, and I prefer to do as little work as possible. While, I don’t mind going through multiple steps in my skincare routine, I like to do the bare minimum for my hair care. I wash my hair once a week, mask, style, and apply oil every other day. That’s it!

So when I first heard everyone raving about the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer brush I was intrigued. I was wondering if it’s as easy to use as everyone was saying.

I have thick and coarse hair, and most of the hair tools I’ve tried don’t work as well for me as advertised. They’re either too hard to use, or I can’t get the same effect as the girls in the commercials. So I’ve been cautious about my hair tools purchases because I don’t want to be wasting any money on something that will collect dust on a shelf at home.

After months of consideration, I purchased the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer brush, and here’s my unsolicited opinion on the product.

It’s basically a hot airbrush, and the hot air comes through holes next to the bristles. The brush has three settings – cool, low, and high. I usually use it on high, and I haven’t really tried the cool setting.

MY CONCERNS:

Before purchasing the brush, I read reviews online, and you know the saying that you’re more likely to believe the negatives about something rather than the positives. That’s how I felt. I went through the reviews and filtered out the positive reviews because I wanted to see what people didn’t like about the brush.

Many were saying that the brush gets too hot, and they felt like their hair is getting damaged, which was concerning for me.

Here’s what I found out after using the brush for some time. The high setting gets quite hot, and it works for me because of my hair’s density and fullness. However, if you have finer and thinner hair, the low setting should be your go-to.

I haven’t experienced anything negative while using the brush, and I’ve had it for 3 months now. I really wanted to use it for a while before I write this post.

IS THE REVLON ONE STEP HAIR DRYER WORTH THE HYPE?

When I first opened the box, I was a bit surprised by the size of the brush. I was expecting it to be a lot smaller, and I thought the bigger size would make it difficult for me to style my current hair length. I was wrong! The Revlon Hair Dryer brush is light and very easy to use.

Is it worth the hype? Yes! It most definitely is worth the hype.

It takes less time to blow dry my hair with the Revlon brush than straighten it with a hair straightener, which is a huge plus for me. Although I’m not one that likes to add volume to my hair, since I already have quite a lot of hair, the brush makes it so easy to volumize while straightening, if that’s what you want to go for.

IS IT AFFORDABLE?

Yes, this hair tool is very affordable compared to similar items on the market. The Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer is only $40.

HOW I USE IT & HOW OFTEN?

I use it when my hair is mostly dry and I find that I’m able to style it a lot quicker this way. I usually apply some heat protectant spray before, and a few drops of oil at the end.

When it comes to how often I use it, the Revlon Hair Dryer hasn’t completely replaced my straightener. I still like my straight hair, and the blow dryer gives me a different look. So I alternate between the brush and my straightener, but I notice that I’m reaching for the brush a bit more often, mostly because I get such an easy blowout style in less time.
